The best thing about our Sight Word Centers are they give your students ownership of their own learning and are designed to run themselves so you can focus on teaching your own group.
Our year-long independent sight word centers are:
Each pair will have: A set of ringed cards on their level, an activity card you assign, and a Reading Phone. Students will practice and review at their own pace, on their own levels. The colorful, hands-on materials will engage them and keep them on task, and you will easily monitor progress from across the room.
Your students will work through hundreds of laminated sight word cards, learning first the stylized image, then the plain text followed by reading those words in context.
Once they have had time to practice, and their partner has reported that they know their List of words. They will be ready to move onto the next list. When all the words are learned in the 607 center kit your students know about 90% of words that they will encounter in their reading.
